It was quite the experience for members of Forfar Falcons swimming club when they were joined by Glasgow 2014 hero Hannah Miley.
The Commonwealth gold medallist was at the Tollcross Aquatics Centre to encourage youngsters taking part in the SwimBritain event there.
And Miley was also in the pool herself as she joined three Forfar swimmers to take part in the four-person relay challenge.
Katy Davies, 12, Lauren Millar, 12, and Mackinley Skea, 13, saw Hannah fill the final slot on their team after winning a competition.
Katy said: “I’m a massive Hannah fan. I cried when I found out I would be swimming with her.”
Mackinley, who also swims for Montrose Seals, added: “I can’t believe I got to be on a relay team with her.”
The trio of youngsters would have learned a great deal from the 24-year-old swimming star.
Hannah, from Inverurie, successfully defended her 400m individual title from the Delhi Games at the Glasgow event.
In doing so she became only the third ever Scottish woman to successfully defend her a Commonwealth medal.
She said: “What a great bunch of young swimmers. Their enthusiasm is infectious.
“SwimBritain is a brilliant event. The young people here could be the medallists of the future.”
Forfar Amateur Swimming Club are based at Forfar Swimming Pool in the Vennel and have classes throughout the week.
