WITH the wet season continuing, cricket action remains very much at a premium in this neck of the woods.
Strathie firsts were due at Arbroath on Saturday, but the game failed to beat the indifferent weather.
While it was dry for much of the day in Forfar the coast failed to escape the heavy showers, and the Arbroath ground was deemed unplayable by the 1 pm start time.
On Sunday, things were again reasonably fine in Forfar. Alas, Montrose failed to put together a team and the second eleven joust went by the wayside.
Will there be an improvement in the weather for this coming week?
We’ll have to wait and see, but if the sun does shine this coming Saturday there is home action for cricket enthusiasts to look forward to, with the first eleven due to entertain Huntly.
On Sunday, the seconds are on their travels, making for Glendelvine.
