If you have been inspired by the the Olympics then you may want to know that Forfar’s Badminton Club re-opens for the 2012/13 season on Monday, August 20 at the Games Hall in Forfar Academy.
The club is open to adults aged 16 years and over and has the use of four courts in the games gall and another if needed.
The floor of the games hall has been replaced with a softer matting surface which should be easier on the feet than the old surface used to be.
The club is open on Monday nights from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm and changing facilities and showers are available.
“We currently do not have a membership fee and the nightly levy was £5 last season,” explains a club spokesperson.
“This may remain the same for the coming season depending on the club’s financial situation, which will be discussed at the annual general meeting in a few week’s time.
“The club will be pleased to welcome old and new members as numbers dropped off last season, as a result of the extended period of work on the games hall floor.
“The club has competitive as well as a social side and, last season, had two gents doubles teams in the local Angus Badminton Association League, and would hope to do likewise this season.”
