A good start for Rescobie

A VERY successful opening day at Rescobie Loch saw some really nice fish come off, including some sizeable brown trout.

The weather wasn’t to kind but most anglers managed a few hours before retreating to the boathouse for a welcome cup of tea.

Those who did manage out on the opening weekend were fortunate indeed as the weather has rendered the loch practically unfishable since.

D. Milne (Arbroath) had a brown trout of 8lbs 9oz, which was on the ‘Fish of the Month’ leaderboard for a few minutes, in his dour for 16lb.

J. Moncur (Invergowrie) had a brown at 4lbs 8oz in his four for 15lbs.

L. Anderson (Invergowrie) had one at 5lbs in his four for 16lbs, G. Smith (Arbroath) four browns for 24lbs, D. Yule (Arbroath) four browns for 25lbs, K. McIntosh (Forfar) three browns for 24lbs 8oz, J. Mackie (Invergowrie) one brown at 10lbs in his four for 16lbs 8oz, J. Duncan (Perth) two browns for 18lbs in his three for 20lbs, A. Wood (Forfar) one brown at 8lbs 8oz in his four for 14lbs 6oz, J. Malloch (Letham) four for 6lbs 12oz, J. Henderson (Montrose) four for 7lbs, P. Greig (Dundee) four for 8lbs 12oz, D. Robertson (Brechin) four for 9lbs and A. Fyall (Arbroath) four for 8lbs.

From the bank, R. Fraser (Letham) had two rainbows for 10lbs 8oz, R. Clark (Arbroath) one brown at 6lbs 4oz, A. Munro (Forfar) one brown at 6lb 8oz and G. Cheetham (Monifieth) had two browns for 13lbs 5oz

Anglers who have had their names on the Rescobie waiting list for some time should ensure that the details held are up to date as the secretary has found it impossible to make contact with quite a few of them.
