In the Forfar and District Hillwalking Club’s 50th year a number of special anniversary events have been organised to mark the celebrations.
And the next big event will be the club’s first ever walk over the Capel Mounth to Loch Muick returning via Balnagairnon on Saturday, October 26.
Please let either the meet secretary, Ray, or assistant meet secretary, Carolyn, know whether you will be attending.
Following the walk, the club has arranged a sit-down meal at The Clova Hotel for 7 p.m. and they have also fully booked the bunkhouse.
Bookings for both are available for current and former members.
If you are interested in attending the meal then please contact Linda Sinclair.
A £10 deposit (payable to FDHWC) will be required, as well as your menu choice which is available by either contacting Linda or from the club website.
If you are interested in staying in the bunkhouse the night of the walk and meal then book in the usual manner for a weekend meet by contacting the treasurer, a booking form is also on the website.
During the celebrations there will also be a small display in the Forfar Library with photographs and a short history of the club.
All contact details are available on the website FDHWC.org.uk
Meanwhile, the club is also offering clothing to celebrate the occasion.
Club members Debbie and Brian Kenward will be taking all orders direct and their contact email is on the order form which is also available on the website. They are very flexible about colours and sizing and the logos which can be viewed on the website are only an indication of what is available. All logos will also show the club dates ‘1963 - 2013’.
