WESTVIEW, the home of Kirrie Thistle Junior Football Club, is to stage a match involving the Scottish Junior international side in April.
The modern accommodation provided by the club has prompted the Scottish Junior Football Association to choose it as the venue for a match between Junior Scotland and the Highland League.
FRIOCKHEIM team, Kirkton, won their way through to the semi-final stages of the Second division cup with an outstanding display against the league leaders.
With a strong wind behind them, they opened the scoring when Cuthill beat a defender and shot through the keeper’s legs.
Lawson made it 2-0, giving the keeper no chance from the edge of the box, after playing a one-two with Poole.
Monifieth’s only attack of the first period almost produced a goal. After this set-back, Kirkton came more into the game again with Cuthill and Reid coming close.

FANS OF Forfar Athletic will have the opportunity to quiz the club management about this season’s progress and hopes for the future - when a meeting is held next Wednesday evening.
The meeting will attended by Forfar boss Tommy Campbell and his assistants Brian McLaughlin, Tom McCallan and Ian McPhee, along with a board representative. They will willingly answer any questions the supporters may wish to put to them.
THE ANGUS Cycling Club run on Sunday took members to the picturesque village of Edzell.
The group travelled via the old Brechin Road to Aberlemno and then down to Balgarrock and along the river to Netherton. The route continued by way of Brechin and Trinity and on to Edzell via Inchbrae.
In the village, the cyclists enjoyed the drum up on the muir.

TWELVE-year-old football fan Emma Colville had her heart set on winning a recent competition ran by Tesco, Forfar and Coca-Cola - and she did!
Emma entered the free prize draw at Tesco and won a football signed by the Heart of Midlothian Football Club.
James Miller, the Coca-Cola account executive and Forfar checkout manager Robert Handy met with Emma to hand over the sought-after prize.
A SHORT but enjoyable walk was had by ten members of the Forfar and District Ramblers Association over Carrot and Dod Hills recently.
After a brief view of the Tay Estuary and a cup of tea in a quarry, they were chased back to the car park by a violent snow storm.
