AFTER a recent meeting between committee members and team captains, it was decided that the Forfar Pool League would enter into the super league.
The Tayside super league singles competition was played off in Forfar and the players who progress furthest go on to represent the town in the Tayside competiiton in the spring.
THE THREE-RINKmatch against Aberlemno for the Weighton Trophy once again produced a highly enjoyable game.
Jack Donaldson skipped his rink of Dudley Dorman, Malcolm McBeath and Ron Brown off to an early lead with keen play from all concerned.
However, Aberlemno fought back and were ahead by shot at the sixth end before Jack moved up a gear to eventually win by 11 shots to six.
Jim Strathearn, John Gilmour, J. Stuart and Alan Bruce, down 9-2 at once stage, fought back before eventually going down 9-5.
It was Cameron McKiddie and his rink of Bruce Paul, Mike McVittie and Quentin Grant who let the side down by losing 7-3.

KIRRIE Thistle are still no nearer to announcing the sucessor to disposed boss Alex Brash.
The former Forfar Athletic, Raith Rovers and Brechin City centre-half was dismissed three weeks ago.
His departure followed a disappointing string of results which has left Kirrie fighting relegation from Division One.
Brash’s assistant, ex-Forfar Athletic midfielder Billy Gallacher, has also left Westview.
THE ANGUS Cycling Club run on Sunday saw members head for Carsegownie Farm to enjoy stovies instead of making the planned trip to the Den of Airlie.
The journey home was via the old Brechin Road through Lunanhead.

THE TWO Forfar junior sides rung out the old year with league victories on Saturday, but Kirrie Thistle suffered a reverse.
In the premier league, Forfar West travelled to take on Arbroath Vics and returned with a 3-2 win under their belts.
Kirrie Thistle were also on the coast, losing to Montrose Roselea by 4-2.
In the first division, Forfar Albion grabbed a fine 2-0 home victory over Jeanfield Swifts.
THERE was no shortage of folk keen to run their festive execesses when Forfar Road Runners staged their annual Plum Pudding Plod on Boxing Day.
Almost 120 runners set off on a three-mile circuit of Forfar Loch - a number of them in fancy dress.
