NAP HAPPY WEST GO THREE POINTS CLEAR

FORFAR West End went nap at Blairgowrie on Saturday to move three points clear at the top of the East Premier League.

It took the visitors until the 33rd minute to break the deadlock, Gary Muckersie scoring from the spot after being sent tumbling in the box.

It was a double blow for Blair, with goalkeeper Gordon O'Brien's misdemeanour earning him a red card.

On the stroke of half-time, Richie Robertson headed into his home goal to give West a comfortable cushion.

It was one that they built on in the second period, another Muckersie spot-kick and goals by Daryll McKenzie and Stuart McConnachie taking the tally to five.

Kirrie Thistle bounced right back into the East North League title picture with a handsome six-nil demolition job on Coupar Angus.

An Ally Scott double, a spot-kick conversion by Kris Morrice and goals from David Millar, Gary Smith and Scott Black saw Kirrie home with plenty to spare, to move on to the 27-point mark, 13 behind Violet but with three games in hand.

Forfar Albion lost out by the odd goal in five at home to East Craigie.

Mark McIntosh had Albion in front after 20 minutes, only for Paul Constable to level for the visitors on the stroke of half-time.

McIntosh restored the Albion lead early in 65 minutes, but East Craigie claimed the points courtesy of goals from Keith Chalmers and a deflected effort.

This Saturday, Kirrie Thistle are at Arbroath SC and Forfar Albion head for Lochee Harp (kick-offs 2.30 pm).

In the East Premier League, Forfar West End are at home to Armadale (also 2.30 kick-off).
