FORFAR ATHLETIC TO LAUNCH UNDER-17 SIDE

FORFAR Athletic Football Club will be entering an under 17s team in the 2010/11 Scottish Football League.

"The club has been in regular communication with a number of local clubs and individuals and would like to register our thanks for their positive support and commitment to help the club," explains director David Brash.

"Trial dates have been set during the Easter holidays for Wednesday and Thursday, April 7 and 8, at Forfar Farmington's Market Muir ground.

"We currently have three coaches committed to working with the squad on a voluntary basis.

"We are also delighted to be working in partnership with Stevie Baxter, the regional Scottish FA development officer.

"Stevie has agreed to assist the club to meet the league criteria and oversee the development of the new youth structure.

"The board members are delighted with the progress that has been made over the last few months and are looking forward to the prospect of running a youth team for the first time for a number of years."

The club will be hoping to raise funds from sponsorship and fund-raising to help support the running costs of the team.

If you would be interested in helping with this or know someone who would, you can contact the club by telephone or email at youth@forfarathletic.co.uk.

Finally, if you know someone who would be interested in participating in the trials pass these details on or ask them to get in touch with the club or access the website www.forfarathletic.co.uk for further information.
