Excellent comeback for Under 15s

Forfar Boys U15’s finally got back into action for the first time since mid-November as they travelled to Dundee to face Lincraig.

Forfar started quickly and were one goal up when Watt pounced on a poor clearance from the home keeper to fire the ball home.

A great corner from Baillie was brilliantly met by the head of Duncan who powered the ball home under pressure from his marker to make it two.

Another corner from Baillie was headed into the net by Shortridge as Forfar went three goals up.

Watt got his second and Forfar’s fourth when he finished well after good work by Shortridge and Edward.

It was soon five when Edward got on the score sheet as he finished from inside the box after being set up by Watt.

The first half rout by Forfar was completed when Watt skipped past two challenges and scored with his left foot to make it six.

The second half saw Forfar ease off as they struggled to get the momentum of the first half going again.

Lincraig pulled a goal back with a rare foray up the park but Forfar eventually got it together midway through the second half when Baillie made it seven with a superb strike from distance.

Immediately after that Watt matched Baillie’s effort with a brilliant long range effort to make it eight.

The scoring was completed by Beattie who, not for the first time this season, handed the gloves to Urquhart in return for a run outfield.

He fired home from just inside the box to make the final score 9-1 in Forfar’s favour.

After such a long lay-off the Forfar team showed no signs of rustiness and to a man they all put in a great collective effort to return to action with a bang.

Across the squad there were many positives to take from many areas, but Jamie Crozier just shaded the man of the match award with a steady and faultless performance.

The squad on the day was Beattie, Crozier, Duncan, Roy, Norrie, Davidson, Baillie, Shortridge (c), Edward, Menmuir, Watt, Urquhart, Simpson, Rigby and Ferrier.
