AWAY SHARE SEES LOONS CLOSE IN ON SHIRE

FORFAR Athletic maintained their recent impressive unbeaten record with a share of the spoils at Annan on Tuesday evening - closing in on second-top East Stirlingshire in the process.

The Loons got off to a fantastic start with a goal in four minutes, Kevin Fotheringham threading the ball through for Ian Harty to drill home.

The visitors continued to enjoy the better of the play in the first period, but Annan hit back in the second period and deservedly levelled in 52 minutes, Graeme Bell curling a great 25-yarder high past Ally Brown into the top corner of the net.

Forfar have now closed to within four points on East Stirlingshire, with a game in hand, and it is to Shire that Dick Campbell's men head this coming Saturday.

Thereafter, there will be 13 league games left to play - nine of them at home!
