Lowson played Merpro at home and deserved to beat the top team in the league.
The manager was delighted with the players’ will to win and their victory gives them a great chance to go top.
Lowson started well and were playing some good attacking football and creating some chances early on with a Crighton free kick cleared; however a few crosses into the box came to nothing.
The best chance fell to Cammy Howie whose shot brought out a great save from the keeper.
Lowson scored on 20 minutes when a Gary Nisbet free kick into the box landed at Jonny Duncan’s feet to score a good goal.
Merpro were finding it hard to create any chances against the home defence which was on top of its game.
With no more scoring Lowson were ahead at half time.
Merpro started the better side with Lowson having to defend as a team for the first 20 minutes to keep ahead.
Lowson had to make two changes with Cammy Howie Darren Hampton off and Ritchie and Patullo on.
The home team started to come more into the game with Hampton and Howie having efforts blocked inside the box with Patullo doing well with good crosses and Howie getting on the end of one of them to show great composure before shooting past the keeper.
Suttie and Timmons replaced the hard working Richard Hampton and Calum Howie for the last ten minutes of the match.
This was a good team effort from all the players for a great win
