A quick change of plan was required when members of the Friockheim and District Hillwalking Club turned out for the January walk to Glen Moy.
With exceptionally heavy rain and the Burn of Glenmoy close to bursting its banks, some members decided to head back to the coast.
The remaining members headed to Dykehead and followed the lane and headed up Tulloch Hill to the Airlie Memorial Tower. It offered little protection from the driving rain, however, and a few members opted to return to the car at this point whilst most of the group continued northwards following the path to The Goal.
The group then followed the path back through the Cotgibbon plantation and returned to Dykehead. The 9km walk took five hours.
The next club meeting is at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, at the Star Inn, Friockheim. The speaker will be Nick Cole on winter walking skills. All welcome.
The next walk is to the Ochil Hills on Sunday, February 16. Please contact the secretary on 01575 575206 if you would like to attend.
