FORFAR under-11s clashed with Lochside BC in a derby match at Whitehills last Sunday.
The Forfar ‘keeper produced a fine save from Jay Yule in an evenly contested opening period. Lochside took the lead on 18 minutes when Yule found the corner of the net after a fine run into the box. He added a second five minutes later when he knocked home a rebound.
Forfar replied within a minute with Calum Kelman’s neat chip from the edge of the box beating Lochside ‘keeper Kai Florence.
In the second half Forfar pressed hard for the equaliser and Ewan Miller came close with a long-range effort while Aaron Morrison’s shot was well saved by Florence. Lochside came close to extending their lead in the final minute but Miller hooked the ball off the goal-line. In the second match Forfar grabbed an early initiative when Lewis Davison’s shot in the first minute went in off the post. Davison added a second and Sean Tait made it three on 10 minutes. Robbie McLauchlan scored a fine individual goal just before the interval. Forfar added more goals in the second period from McLauchlan, Andrew Short (3), Lennon Sturrock and Jack Neave.
