Forfar manager Dick Campbell remains upbeat about his team’s fortunes this season - but he has warned his players have to prove themselves to stay at the club.

Speaking after his team lost at home to East Fife by two goals to one on Saturday, the Loons’ boss remained upbeat and welcome a free weekend on Saturday which will cut them some slack.

He said: “I don’t let these things get me down. I am disappointed but I reiterate, Aidrie and East Fife were playing for their lives. We had opportunities but it wasn’t to be although I am not making excuses. We had five, six or seven players unavailable which is killing me. I am really glad that we have got a rest this week. But the players are playing for their future.”
