Forfar Academy’s first year boys football team entertained Our Lady and St Patrick’s High from Dumbarton in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup last Wednesday.
It was clear from the outset this was a quality outfit. A crisp passing move saw the opposition take an early lead.
Forfar showed amazing grit and determination to draw level through Callum Clark. At full-time the sides were level pegging at 2-2. A goal from Lewis Pass in the first period of extra time was richly deserved and signalled the end for Our Lady’s who completely lost their cool and had a man sent off. With the opposition on the ropes Pass delivered the knockout blow which saw Forfar run out 4-2 winners. Forfar march on to the last eight of this prestigious competition. After coming back twice from behind this side proved once again their quality and metal. The whole team delivered massive performances but the Man of the Match Award was shared between Rhyss Baer and Mark Smith.
