West End gaffer Daryl McKenzie knows it’s a tough start for his side after the Premier League fixtures confirmed the promoted outfit will begin their campaign with games against Montrose Roselea and Dundee North End.
But the boss admitted every game in the league will be tough, and he thinks his players are capable of doing the job on paper.
He said: “We’ve got our fixtures now and they’re difficult games to start but they all will be, and on paper they’re winnable games. The next week or so will be focusing on the fitness things then it’ll be getting stuck right into the tactics side of things. The season is only a month away which is really exciting for everyone at the club.
“I’m delighted that the final Saturday training session is over. The boys are all of the mindset that Saturdays are for games and that’s the case now.”
West End will be hosting their annual pre-season festival this Saturday as they begin their run of friendlies at home to Lowson United.
There will be football from the new West End U19s team as well as the community club throughout the day, building up to the 3 p.m. kick-off.
