On the goals trail

Forfar Boys U10s hit the goals trail on Sunday as they visited Dundee Rangers.

The young Loons dominated the first period but had nothing to show for their efforts, though Cameron Fleming and Liam Jones came close to opening the scoring.

An inspired half-time team talk turned things around in Forfar’s favour, however, and Sean Tait began the goal glut when he fired home early in the second half.

Jones added a second while Fleming soon made it three.

Jones scored again before Tait had an effort tipped over by the Rangers goalie.

The hosts pulled a goal back against the run of play, but two late goals by Lewis McSherry sealed an emphatic victory,

Team: Noble, Morrison, Miller, Davidson, Fleming, Short, Jones. Subs - McSherry, Tait.

In the second game Forfar took control early on and opened the scoring through Jack Neave.

Despite periods of constant pressure Forfar were still only one ahead at the interval.

That changed, however, in the second half with Lewis Davison adding a second and Neave scoring his side’s third.

Adam Macdairmid made it four before Robbie McLauchlan grabbed a hat-trick inside the last ten minutes.

Team: Noble, Harrison, C Davidson, Kelman, Neave, Macdairmid, McLauchlan. Subs - McSherry, Davison.
