THERE may not have been much action over the last few months on the pitch for members of Lochside Boys Football Club, but they have certainly been busy off the pitch, writes Janet Thomson.

They have been carrying out renovation work at their clubrooms in Craig O’Loch Road, sprucing up the former SNP hut to improve facilities for the home team, as well as their opposition.

They have carried out work on the kitchen area, the bathrooms and have knocked a wall down to make way for a changing room.

The inside and outside of the hut have also been painted and the garden area has been tidied up with gravel laid.

Parents and coaches gave up their time to help with the renovation work, and the club is grateful for the support received from local businessmen who have helped their cause.

They thank Howdens, Laird Brothers, Orchard Timber, Travis Perkins, George Smith Joinery, ACM Plastering, S & J Joiners, Anderson Plumbing, J. Milne Electrical and Strathmore Landscapes.

The work has been going on for almost two years.

With the attention now turning to some football matches after a long winter drought, Lochside Boys are appealing for players interested in joining any of their teams which cater for under nines through to under 17s.

The teams play in the Dundee and District League and anyone interested is asked to contact Lorraine Ballie on Forfar 463 081.
