New boy Lewis Allan only met his teammates a few hours before Saturday’s game, but you wouldn’t think it given the performance of the on-loan Hibernian striker.
The teenager looked sharp, hungry and intelligent in the weekend’s 4-1 win over Stenhousemuir and linked well with the players around him.
That will only improve as he forges a better understanding with his new teammates over the coming weeks.
Lewis has said he already enjoys playing alongside Chris Templeman and added he hopes to learn a lot from the big striker.
And he revealed that Forfar jumped to the front of the list of prospective clubs once he’d spoken to Dick Campbell.
He said: “It was a good performance and a great result. The game was over at half time but we kept going after the break and stayed resilient.
“We’ve got the three points so we’re very happy. We looked great going forward. Defensively we were solid but we’re disappointed to lose the goal we did, but then it’s a great reaction to go and get the fourth right away. I think the changes maybe affected us for it but we got the good reaction.
“You’d think so many changes first half would disrupt the play but it didn’t happen, everyone that came on did well. It shows you how good the boys here are and it’s a joy to be playing with them.
“Templeman is great, such a big guy up there and his experience is massive as well, so it’ll be good to learn from him. I’m here for a full year and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a great start.
“I had a few clubs as well as Forfar and I had to narrow it down. I spoke to the gaffer here and knew I wanted to come to Forfar.
“He’s a great guy, he’s been in the game such a long time so it’s a good move for me. He’s got a lot of experience and contacts so it can only be good for me.
“I met everyone just this morning. I only got told yesterday. I didn’t know it’d come around so quickly and to be in from the start was a bit surprising, but that’s what you want.”
