FORFAR West End have appointed Paul Martin as their new team manager to succeed Jim Finlayson.
Although he is thrilled to have been appointed he is well aware that he has a hard act to follow.
Looking towards the task ahead he said: “It’s a challenge I am very much looking forward to.”
Martin was previously in charge at the now-defunct Arbroath SC and brings with him a wealth of experience in coaching senior sides’ youth teams.
Martin’s No. 2 will be Mark Kelly who played with North End and Carnoustie before a spell as manager at East Craigie.
Also joining the backroom staff is John Morris who has recently been managing Newport Amateurs.
Martin will now get straight to work reviewing the strength of the side for the new season.
West End secretary Gordon Rodger said: “Paul has a sound knowledge of all levels of the football scene and extensive managerial experience.”
Meanwhile, the award-winning players at Kirrie Thistle Junior Football Club for season 2010-2011 were as follows:-
Player of the year, David Gorman; players’ player of the year, Cat Atigan; fans’ favourite, Jonathon Watson; top scorer, Stuart Farquharson; clubman of the year, Dave Petherick.
