WEBSTER’S High School junior girls eventually got their Scottish School Shield first round tie against Inverkeithing High after a number of problems delayed the game for four weeks.
The Webster’s High girls played into a very strong breeze in the first half and it was little surprise that they took time to settle. The early stages were very much kick and rush but as the half progressed the Webster’s girls began to create a number of chance and deserved to score in the 20th minutes after a sweeping move involving Mimi Thomson, Emily Thain was finished off by Emily Donlevy.
Minutes later, Jade Logan almost increased their lead when her shot struck the cross bar but bounced to safety.
With the wind on their back Webster’s dominated the entire second half and doubled their lead when Thain blasted home from 16 yards.
Immediately after this the hard working Donlevy added a third and then completed her hattrick after terrorising the Inverkeithing defence.
Donlevy capped a great cap by scoring her fourth goal minutes before the end.
This was a very good display from the young Webster’s team where everyone played to a high standard.
The final score was Inverkeithing High School 0, Websters High School 5.
