Goalscorer Andy Ryan said Saturday’s romping win over Ayr United has been in the pipeline for a long time.
And the in-form striker believes it’s never been in doubt just how good Forfar Athletic are, and now their performances are showing their ability.
Andy said: “It was a good game, I thought the performances have been there for the last few weeks. The work rate and the quality was there, but we just weren’t taking our chances.
“We knew if we just stuck together then the chances would go in the back of the net for us, like they did, so we’re very happy.
“I’ve said since I first came in, the quality is definitely there. We’ve just maybe not quite got the rub of the green. The performances have been good and now we’re converting our chances, we’re looking a much better team.
“The last few weeks I’ve been up front with Swankie because Steven’s been ill but Swankie is a top player. He’s got great vision and if he drops deep as he did against Ayr, he can certainly pick out a pass.
“I thought overall everybody got good pass marks and we thoroughly deserved the three points.
“I’m just pleased to get the three points because the last few weeks have been tough, Brechin have been catching us up and they’ve won again but we leap frog over Cowdenbeath. Every game is a cup final for us now until the end of the season.”
