Forfar West End boss Daryl McKenzie isn’t too disheartened by his side’s poor results because he says they’ve played the league’s best teams.

The Strathmore Park side have one point from three games following a draw to Lochee United and defeats to Dundonald Bluebell and Dalkeith Thistle.

But the gaffer admitted he was only hoping for one or two points from those games because of the quality of the opposition, with Daryl saying those three will be battling for the Premier League title.

He said: “We’ve not had the best of starts but we’ve played three very, very good teams.

“I was only hoping for one or two points from these opening games anyway.

“I would argue with anyone that the teams we’ve played will finish in the top three this season, I’d be very surprised if they’re not.

“We’re under no illusions.

“The games for us are against the middle of the pack.

“We have Dundee Violet on Wednesday and Armadale on Saturday, both games are away from home.”
