THE local junior sides returned to action on Saturday, the very wet midweek weather resulting in the postponement of matches on the Wednesday evening.
And, what a great Saturday afternoon it turned out to be for Forfar Albion, who hit Blairgowrie for seven.
On an afternoon when the Berrypickers were eventually reduced to seven men - after four red cards- Albion were three-one up at the break and went on to score four more in the second period.
The Albion marksmen were Paul Walker (2), Matt Brown (2), Ian Plenderleith, Scott Ali and Russell Stewart, with Steven Harris counting for Blair.
Forfar West End, meanwhile, continue to find the going tough, going down by a single goal at home to Brechin Vics.
The game looked like ending up a nil-nil stalemate until Vics’ Colin McNaught popped up with what proved to be the three-pointer with a last minute strike.
The D. J. Laing League Cup section action continues on Wednesday evening (tonight).
In Group A, Kirrie Thistle play host to Forfar West End (kick-off 6.45 pm).
