FORFAR Athletic’s first new face for season 2012-2013 is a midfield player who has been released by near neighbours Arbroath.
The Loons have agreed terms with Lichties central midfielder Keith Gibson, who is set to sign a one-year contract with the club.
Manager Dick Campbell, who is currently on holiday, has also fixed up a number of the regular first team players on new one-year contracts.
Staying on at Station Park are Chris Templeman, Michael Bolochoweskyj, Martyn Fotheringham, Steven Tulloch, Marc McCulloch, Kevin Motion and Jamie Bishop.
The manager is also in talks with Kevin Byers, Chris Hegarty, Greg Paterson and Ross and Iain Campbell about their future, while Graham Gibson, Craig Wilson and Neil McKane have not been offered new contracts.
Meanwhile, with the Station Park grass surface no more, and work ongoing to replace it with a new artificial surface in time for the start of the new campaign, much of the pre-season plans will take the players on their travels.
There will be no pre-season friendly action at Forfar, with the club looking to fix up at least five pre-season games away from home.
Two have already been fixed up, at Montrose on Tuesday, July 10 and at Huntly on Saturday, July 21.
A third match, at Cove Rangers, on Saturday, July 14, is expected to be confirmed within the next 24 hours.
