FORFAR Athletic fans still await their first goal of 2011 at Station Park.
East Fife were belated first foots to the ground on Tuesday evening and the game ended goal-less after a competitive ninety minutes played at quite a pace.
Both teams had their chances to bag all three points.
Bryan Deasley cracked a great shot off the post in 19 minutes, while, in the early stages of the second period, Iain Campbell cleared a Steven Hislop header off the line and Scott Gallacher saved brilliantly from Linn.
East Fife had a glorious chance to take the lead in 67 minutes when Muir was pulled down in the box, but Gallacher dived to his left to save Sloan’s spot-kick.
Ross wasn’t far off target for the Loons with a great shot after cutting in from the flank, while right at the death Hilson raced clear on goal, rounded the keeper and teed up Martyn Fothringham, who somehow blasted the ball high over the top of the bar.
At the end of a night a share of the spoils was just about right – meaning that the Loons have taken three points from four in the two games played in 2011.
