Glasgow City 9

Forfar Farmington 0

Forfar Farmington shouldn’t be ashamed of the scoreline at Petershill Park considering they played for 67 minutes with 10 players after two injuries.

Manager White made one change, with Keira Johnstone replaced by Alex Russell.

City took the lead after four minutes. A cross by Love was met by the head of O’Sullivan from close range, beating McNicoll.

The home side was filled with internationalists, and Ross, Brown, and ex-Farmington winger Grant all went close.

City doubled their lead in the 17th minute. A header was saved by McNicoll but Ross was on hand to stab home the rebound.

It was three-nil two minutes later, Love curling home a great effort from the edge of the box. In attempting to save, Forfar ‘keeper McNicoll collided with the goalframe and had to be taken to hospital with a head wound.

After a 35 minute delay, lone sub Leonie Simpson took McNicoll’s place.

Three minutes later, Brown swung the ball into the box for O’Sullivan, but her header crashed off the bar, Love firing home the second chance.

Farmington were down to ten in the 23rd minute, Russell colliding with a home player when challenging for a header.

City scored a fifth when Grant’s cross was headed towards goal by Brown and the ball came off Simpson and went in.

Half-time: Glasgow City 5, Forfar Farmington 0.

Almost at once Brown scored her second. Just after the hour McSorley scored from 30 yards.

Leanne Ross notched her second with 15 minutes left, swiping home a Brown cross. Amy Gallacher’ chance for a consolation was blocked while at the other end Simpson was doing good work.

City scored a ninth in the 85th minute, a cross into the area punched out by Simpson but Abbi Grant fired into an empty net.

Farmington now play Edinburgh Spartans at Ainslie Park.
