Forfar Farmington Falcons made their debut in the under-13s section of the Margaret Wright and Arthur Robertson Memorial Summer 7s on Saturday.
Having shared the cup with East Fife in the under 11s section last year, the festival has proved a happy hunting ground.
In their first group match the Falcons played an extremely talented Hibs side and were on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline.
However, a three-game winning streak against Real Fife, Bayside 12s and East Fife saw the Falcons soar into the knockout stages of the cup section.
The Falcons were handed the tough task of taking on Central Girls from Grangemouth but they managed to overcame their opponents with a spirited 2-0 victory.
Next up for the Falcons was Bayside 13s, who had recently won the East Region League Cup, in the semi-final.
The Falcons took the lead in what was a pulsating match but Bayside managed to equalise near the end, taking the match into penalty kicks.
With both teams missing one of their penalty kicks the game went into sudden death. It was the Falcons who were celebrating at the end thanks to a Mowat save and a coolly taken Neave penalty.
Although the Falcons lost the final 1-0 to Hibs, the Forfar girls were able to hold their heads high.
