FORFAR Athletic remain firmly in the relegation zone after shipping four goals to near neighbours Arbroath for the second time in eleven days.
Steven Doris was the home hero with a hat-trick as Arbroath maintained their title push with a handsome four-one victory at Gayfield on Tuesday evening.
Forfar made a good start, taking the lead through a Bradley Coyne volley in 13 minutes.
But the Lichties took control thereafter, and there three-one in front by the interval.
Collin Samuel levelled the scores in 20 minutes and Steven Doris scored a brace in quick succession just prior to the break.
The same player completed his hat-trick 20 minutes from time, fastening on to a Gavin Swankie pass to slot home.
Forfar are hovering just above Stirling Albion and Albion Rovers in the league, so this Saturday’s trip to Clitfonhill to face the latter is an important game.
Forfar’s next home match sees East Fife in town on Tuesday evening of next week.
