Forfar Boys Under-16s lost by three goals to one away to Tayport on league business on Sunday.
The squad was Urquhart, Norrie, Baillie (c), Davidson, Roy, Duncan, Simpson, Lumgair, Edward, Menmuir, Smith, Ferrier, Wheatley and Crozier.
In a relatively even first half Forfar found themselves three goals down at the break despite enjoying a fair bit of possession.
A scrappy finish, a goal from a midfield runner and a penalty made for harsh scoreline reading.
Forfar upped their game in the second half as they got a better grip of the midfield. Smith, Edward and Simpson were linking up well, but it took until 15 minutes from the end for Forfar to get a deserved goal when Duncan played the ball through the middle for Menmuir to lob the advancing keeper.
Baillie fired a free kick wide and Crozier nearly got on the end of an excellent diagonal through ball from Edward, but unfortunately they couldn’t get another goal to make for an interesting end to the game.
