A promising young water polo player from Forfar has helped secure his team the under 18s Scottish Cup.

Matthew Crighton, a second year pupil at Forfar Academy, plays water polo for Menzieshill and Whitehall Water Polo Club in
Dundee.

He is a keen water polo player and also represented Scotland for the first time in February in competition at Walsall, England.

Menzieshill and Whitehall Waterpolo Club played Hamilton in the Scottish Cup final at Carnegie Leisure Centre in Dunfermline on March 8.

The winning score was 14-7 with Matthew scoring a goal.

Matthew has only been playing water polo for around 18 months having started at Forfar Pool.

He had a Great Britain trial in January in which he was invited back for a second trial.

He was unsuccessful on the second trial but he is hoping to go back to Cardiff next January to try out
again.

Matthew has had support from NASA funding with Angus Council.

He loves water polo and is very committed.

He was very proud to play for Scotland and also plays for Scottish
Caledonia which is made up of players from three Scottish teams.
