IT WILL be replays all round for Angus’ Second Division teams in the Scottish Cup this weekend as all were held to draws on Saturday afternoon.

Despite being 3-0 up at half-time, Forfar Athletic were doomed to draw after a lacklustre second half performance. Nairn County only just managed to get a third goal in the closing stages of the game but it was enough to force ‘The Loons’ into an away day next Saturday at Station Park.

Brechin City found themselves with a similar fate despite doing their utmost to deny Bonnyrigg Rose a shock win.

The Glebe Park side were 2-0 down by the hour mark with the East Superleague Champions taking the lead in the 21st minute.

However, Brechin City’s fortunes changed a few minutes later when Andrew Jackson made it 2-1. Just 12 minutes from time David Dunn got the equaliser but the hosts were unable to capitalise on that and a replay will take place at New Dundas Park on Saturday. If you are planning to make it to the match please note the earlier kick-off time of 1.30pm.

Arbroath have an advantage on the other two teams as they will have their replay on home turf at Gayfield on Saturday.

It was the visitors who started the scoring just five minutes in against Inverurie Loco Works. They made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute.

Arbroath looked like they had this one in the bag just before the hour mark when Darren Gribben took the advantage to three.

However, Inverurie had other ideas and pulled back three goals in the second half - two of which were in the last gasps of the game.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Cup third round the results were as follows: Rangers 7, Alloa Athletic 0; Cowdenbeath 8, Vale of Leithen 1; Ayr United 2, Clachnacuddin 1; Buckie Thistle 0, Turriff United 1; Dumbarton 4, East Stirlingshire 1; Edinburgh City 0, Queen of the South 2; Elgin City 5, East Fife 1; Partick Thistle 2, Cove Rangers 1.

Replays will also take place between Airdrie United and Raith Rovers who found themselves with a 2-2 scoreline and Albion Rovers and Morton who finished 1-1.

Montrose found themselves with a free week at the weekend but are now looking towards their away day to Clyde on Saturday.
