A STALWART of the Forfar and District Hillwalking Club became the group’s latest Munroist last Saturday.
Ray Campbell completed the challenge by climbing Ben Wyvis in Inverness-shire accompanied by family and friends.
And the club has extended its congratulations to Ray for this tremendous personal achievement.
Ray has been climbing the Munros - whilst also enjoying many other hill days - for around 20 years.
He has been a loyal servant to the club for years and many of his friends in the organisation were keen to be there with him on this special occasion.
It was a very happy day and they were blessed with a fine day, albeit a bit breezy on the tops.
Summit celebrations included the passing round of numerous bottles of whisky and a very tasty clootie dumpling. Ray was also presented with a tankard by president Colin Sinclair.
The munroist and friends enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the Aultguish Inn where most of the party was based for the weekend.
September is a very active month for the club. The previous weekend 14 members enjoyed a weekend at the Loch Ness Hostel in Glen Urquhart with walks in Glens Conon, Strathfarrar, Cannich, Affric and Shiel.
On Sunday there was a day meet to Ben Vorlich and Stuc a Chroin and this Sunday a social meet is planned to the Ochil hills with a bar supper afterwards. All are welcome. For more details please visit www.fdhwc.org.uk
