A YOUNG Strathmore Cricket Club bowler has been selected to play a trial match for the Scotland Under-17 squad.
Seventeen-year-old Fraser Couston from Letham recently attended a coaching session at the National Academy.

As a result he has been selected as part of a nineteen man Scotland Under-17 squad to play a trial match on June 13.

Those who capture the eye of coaches Craig Wright and Alan Paterson will then play against Holland on Tuesday and Wednesday, 29 and 30, in an ICC Challenge Match at a venue yet to be decided.

Fraser has been playing at Lochside for a number of years now and has come to the attention of the coaches and senior captains for his ability as a seam bowler.

Fraser plays regularly for the Strathmore Cricket Club second eleven and, in recent seasons, has turned out for the first team on a number of occasions.
