FORFAR Athletic continued their build-up to the new campaign on Thursday evening, when they were edged out by a youthful Hibs outfit.
There was little between the sides, the only goal of the game coming through Darren McCormack just after the half-hour, the defender sliding home a low cross from the right.

Forfar had the chance to take the lead just before that, Steve Masson driving through on goal after good work on the right flank, his goal-bound shot turned away by the Hibs keeper.

Both teams made several changes in the second period, to give everyone some match practice and, for the second game in succession, the Loons came on strong in the final quarter.

Indeed, with a bit of luck they could have gone away with a share of the spoils.

Nevertheless, it was another good solid work-out and one which allowed manager Dick Campbell to introduce latest signing Darren Brady, midfield player formerly with Ross County.

He also had a look at two more trialists as he continues his bid to strengthen the squad.

Next up for the Loons is a trip to take on Inverurie Locos on Saturday (kick-off 2 pm), with East Fife at Station Park on Tuesday evening of next week.
