THE Forfar board has gone for experience in the bid to get the club off the basement slot in Scottish senior football.
It was announced earlier today that Dick Campbell is to succeed Jim Moffat as manager of the Loons.

The ex-Brechin City, Partick Thistle and Ross County boss has signed a two-year contract - and will get down to work immediately, assessing the current pool of players and making plans for the new season.

Forfar Athletic vice-chairman Mike McEwan said the club directors were delighted to get a man of Dick's calibre to come to Station Park.
"He has a proven record as a manager, having proved in the past that he can take clubs to a higher level."

The new boss will have quite a task on his hands in the coming weeks, as he gets the Station Park rebuilding process underway.

One of his first tasks will be to speak to the 13 players who are still under contract and the others whose contracts are up on Thursday of next week.

In addition, he will have already earmarked players who he feels can do a job for the Loons in the season ahead.

There will be more soon on the new Forfar manager, both here on the website and in next week's Forfar Dispatch and Kirriemuir Herald.
