A WELL-KNOWN figure in local nursing circles has passed away at the age of 55, after a three-year battle with cancer.
Pamela Urquhart, of Kirk Wynd, Kirriemuir, will be remembered for her work as a nurse at Forfar Infirmary, where she worked for a major part of her nursing career in the outpatient clinics.

Born and brought up at Lintrathen where her father was a
supply supervisor with the water board, Pam was educated at Lintrathen Primary School and Webster's High School.

After leaving school she went into nursing, but left to bring upon a family before she could complete her training.

It was while working at Ninewells Hospital that she met her husband Ian, a long distance lorry driver, whom she married in the early seventies.

The couple had three of a family, Pauline, Susie and Sandy, and, Pam went back to complete her training as a nurse once they were up a bit, starting work at Forfar Infirmary in 1986.

"She worked on the wards initially, but will be remembered as a member of the staff in the outpatient clinics," explained husband Ian.

During her two decades at the infirmary - she had to give up work in 2006 due to ill health - Pam was always keen to get involved in any fund-raising drive going.

Away from nursing, she and her husband enjoyed hillwalking and cabin cruising on Loch Lomond while, over the past year, they were also enjoying trips on their motor home.

At the funeral service, held at Parkgrove Crematorium, Friockheim, last Thursday, a collection was taken for Marie Curie Cancer Care and the sum of £876 realised.
