A LOCAL lass has recently enjoyed some success by competing in prestigious events for two separate activities.
Katie Anderson from Northmuir in Kirriemuir achieved her successes in running and Highland dancing.

She took part in the Angus Schools' Cross-Country Championships in March, representing Northmuir Primary School, where she won the primary six girls event.

Later on that month saw the Young Athletes Relay Race, as part of the IAFF World Cross Country Championships, held at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, where Katie competed.

She ran as part of a team from Hawkhill Harriers and gained a silver medal in the under-11 age group.

In April Katie turned her hand to another talent when she competed in the European Highland Dancing Championships in Fort William.

Representing the Elizabeth Low School of Highland Dancing in Forfar, she gained first place in the ten-and-under age group.
