LOCAL GP, Dr Andy Wilmshurst, was one of over 30,000 runners who completed the 26.2 miles of the recent London Marathon.
As part of Team Macmillan, he was part of a team of over 820 runners raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

It is expected that the team will raise in excess of £1.2 million to help fund Macmillan cancer care services in the UK.

Dr Wilmshurst would like to thank all the patients and staff of Kirriemuir Health Centre, his family and friends who sponsored him for the event.

The final total raised will be in excess of £1600.

"The London Marathon is such an amazingly well supported event, but I was truly amazed by the generosity of the people of Kirriemuir who were so supportive of my efforts," he commented.

"The money raised will help Macmillan Cancer Support provide vital services in our area, helping patients and their cares in many different ways.

"It was a privilege to run for such an important charity and to be so well supported by the community. I'm looking forward to next year already!"
