Strathmore Gardening Club would like to thank Andrea Logan and Asda for their generous donation of 12 bags of bark that helped the school group take their big eco garden project a huge step closer towards completion.

The after school Gardening Club at Strathmore Primary School have been working on an Education area within the Eco garden which they hope all the pupils and teachers of the school will enjoy using.

The bark was used to cover the ground and suppress the weeds.

The children have constructed a Bug Hotel, provided a bucket of branches, varieties of stones and filled a cabinet with pine cones, glass nuggests, twigs, bottle tops and shells as well as laminated sheets of activities.

They have recycled a water tray and filled it with boxed activities on Bees and Bugs - a creepy-crawly theme that is sure to delight the youngsters!

The children have one last project in this area - a sensory box - and this is under construction to encourage the pupils to use all their senses in the garden.
