This Sunday afternoon sees the welcome return to the Plough in Forfar of some of Scotland’s top wrestlers for seven bouts of hard hitting, high flying, grapple action following a full house night in March.
These shows offer a mix of the old techniques with some of the American ‘hardcore’ approach. The highlight of the night is likely to be the bad blood rematch between current Scottish heavyweight champion Murray ‘Muzlem’ Stevenson and Dundee heavyweight Nathan Reynolds.
For all their collective travels in the UK, these two met for the first time in the Plough earlier this year in what proved to be a very close contest and the crowd were very vociferous throughout.
Also back on the bill is English bad boy Jay Geddy, who more than anyone else was on the end of the crowd’s non-appreciation of foul play.
The rest of the card includes Scott Richio, Johnny Wrath, Exodus, Scott Renwick, a special guest appearance by the one and only Dave Kidney, the world’s oldest active wrestler and the first Scottish bouts by visitors Papa Chico and Maldito Loco.
Tickets for the two falls, two submissions or a knockout, fun for all the family afternoon are available at the door on the day or in advance from The Plough or Vine & Monkey (formerly Tolbooth), a family ticket for four costing £25. Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 1 pm, with the first bell at 2 pm.
