TWO local businesses have joined together to deliver a new state-of-the-art dental practice in Kirriemuir.

The long-established Kirriemuir Dental Practice will take delivery of a new, custom built facility in late March 2012 after local company Guild Homes recently began work on the Northmuir site.

Staff and patients at the dental practice, tucked up one of the alleyways off the Square, have outgrown the original building.

Plans were put in place for the new seven surgery building opposite Northmuir Primary School on Shielhill Road and last Monday dentists from the surgery went along to see at first hand the digging of the foundations for the new facility.

Partner Aisling Hanly said: “We are really pleased that work is starting and are all very excited about the prospect of our new practice.

“We are looking forward to moving and being able to move forward with the times, being able to continue with the high quality of service we can provide but with premises we can match.

“We will be able to build on the service we provide at the moment. We will be able to offer our patients disabled access, a lift and car parking, as well as longer opening hours.”

Robin Guild, operations director of Guild Homes said: “As a well-established builder committed to building in Angus we are delighted to assist in the delivery of a new dental surgery for Kirriemuir.

“It’s also great to know that it will be local people, and indeed future patients, who will complete the bulk of the construction work on this new community building.”
