A LOCAL woman killed the outskirts of Forfar on Saturday morning has been named as Carol Ann Greig (aged 54) from Maryton, outside Kirriemuir,

She was involved in a five-car pile-up 200 metres north of the Douglastown turn-off at around 11 am.

Emergency services, including the trauma team from Ninewells Hospital attended, but unfortunately Carol Greig was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood that a number of vehicles, which had been traveling northwards on the A90, had to take evasive action to avoid the vehicle.

The A90 was closed in both directions for a time.
