IT WAS in the year 1662 that the last witch was executed in Forfar.
Helen Guthrie was executed 350 years ago and it is a true story.
To commemorate the event, The Plough, Bar Central, Chapter and Verse and a number of other public houses plan to hold a day of music and activities called the Witchfinder Festival.
It will be held on Saturday, November 3 with events such as a fancy dress party, a monster ball and live bands,
There will be a Charity Witchfinder ball in The Plough.
It is hoped that the event will endorse the unique cultural and local history from this period and anyone interested or any other business that would like to carry out an event to mark the occasion can visit the Witchfinder Festival Facebook page.
