Whitehills stage set for school productions

Pupils from Primary 6B at Whitehills Primary School received a cheque for £316 which was donated by Scotmid.

The money is going to be used to purchase a wheelchair ramp for one of their fellow pupils, Eythan Galloway.

The ramp is going to be attached to the school’s existing school staging which is used at Christmas and other times of the year.

The school always tries to make all of its pupils feel included and the addition of a ramp means Eythan and any other wheelchair users can take part in school shows and assemblies.

Eythan and the children of Primary 6B have said a very big thank you to Scotmid for helping them achieve their total for the ramp.

Last month their efforts were boosted with the “250 Forfar roof Truss Company Sponsorship cheque which is run in conjunction with the Forfar Dispatch and kirriemuir Herald. The cost of a ramp is approximately £600.

The pupils are have also organised a number of events which will be held to raise enough money to provide wheelchair-friendly and additional needs play equipment for the school’s playground.

They are in the process of organising a school calendar, a coffee morning and, hopefully, a sponsored wheelchair day so there are busy times ahead.
