Some of the country’s best budding TV presenters are competing for a terrific top prize as part of a contest run by Cairngorms Nature and the RSPB.

And the public can now choose the winner of this year’s Cairngorms Nature Young Presenter Competition from a shorlist of eight finalists whose entries have now been posted online.

The competition is looking for a child who is passionate about nature and can inspire others and 10-16-year-olds from across the UK have been filming themselves as nature presenters over the summer.

There is a special prize on offer as the winner will get the chance to spend a day being filmed with BBC nature presenter Iolo Williams, also one of the judges, in the Cairngorms National Park as part of a five-day holiday for them and their family.

Iolo said: “There are so many youngsters out there with a passion for wildlife and a great understanding of their chosen subjects and it came across on the camera. I am looking forward to seeing who the public will choose as the ultimate winner.”

Then entries can be viewed and voted for online at http://cairngorms.co.uk/caring-future/cairngorms-nature-2/young-presenter-competition/
