A number of Angus groups and businesses have been nominated for Rural Innovators Awards which will be presented at the Scottish Rural Pariament in Brechin next month.
The work being carried out by DD8 Music has been recognised with nominations for two awards in the Angus and Young People categories.
Katie Reid of the group said: “Being nominated for one award is such an achievement but to be nominated for two is just fantastic.
‘‘Achievements like this wouldn’t be possible without our amazing volunteers with Bonfest and those who help with the year round running of our studio, not to forget our inspiring youth group and committee who make us proud with their dedication to their community.”
The Rural Innovator Awards are run by Scottish Rural Action and seek to recognise and showcase some of the most innovative and effective ways in which rural challenges can be addressed.
‘‘It will be awarded to a project, person or organisation who is improving life in rural communities by tackling one of the priority challenges.
Other projects nominated include, in the Youth category: Dynamic Dance; Little Lita- Young People Supporting Young People in Employment and Training; Scottish Association of Young Farmers Club- Health and Safety
Nominations in the Rural Innovator category are Angus Farmers Market; Ogilvy Spirits and The Food Life.
Scottish Rural Action National Coordinator Emma Cooper explained votes are now being accepted for the various groups.
