A LOCAL community gathered on Friday evening to celebrate a £50,000 refurbishment of the village hall.
The Kilry Hall project included an extensive refurbishment of the kitchen, which is expected to make the hall a more attractive venue for private functions, generating income to support community use of the facility.
The hall has already taken a booking for a wedding and hosted a ceilidh and private party since the work was completed.
The whole hall has been given a face-lift with new tables and chairs being provided and replacement wood panelling creating a lighter atmosphere.
Previous improvements completed around five years ago introduced “green engineering”, with the installation of solar panels that generate electricity for the hall’s heating and lighting requirements.
The latest refurbishment was financed through the Rural Tayside LEADER Fund.
