Tickets are now on sale for a unique event to be staged at Monikie Country Park later this year.
‘DragonQuest’ will bring the park’s dark woods to life a theatrical, mystery spectacular from Wednesday, October 7 to Sunday, November 1 (excluding Mondays).
Edinburgh theatre company Vision Mechanics, is creating the event, which will see the woods lit up and inhabited by dragons, trolls, fairies, goblins and other magical creatures. The team of designers, along with animation graduates from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee (DJCAD), has created breath-taking sets and illusions to wow family audiences and leave lasting impressions on visitors.
Alongside the more traditional elements of woodland sound and light shows, ticket-holders will invited to download the ‘DragonQuest’ app to reveal what was hidden - a world of magical creatures which they can scan and snap for social media, friends and family alike.
‘DragonQuest’ has been supported by Creative Scotland, EventScotland, part of the VisitScotland Events Directorate, and Angus Council.
Councillor Jeanette Gaul, the council’s vice-convener of communities, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming local visitors – and from further afield. I understand that there’s been a lot of buzz and excitement from visitors calling and stopping in to the park to ask when tickets are going on sale. Now is your chance.”
